Insprired by the word ’Nocturne'.
I tried to express delicate night atmosphere in this work. Use my piano improvisation, field recoding of rainy night and an old echo machine.
I recorded piano with electric guitar and contact microphone, so this work has unique textures come of resonance of guitar strings and mechanical noise of piano (It's my favorite way to record piano).

現在のような音楽を作るようになってそれほど経たない頃、「いつかNocturneというタイトルで作品を制作したい」と思ったことがありました(確かホイッスラーの絵画を見たことがきっかけだったと記憶しています）。
そんなことを考えていたことすら忘れかけていた頃、伊豆の雲見温泉に旅行に行く機会がありました。
その日の夜は雨でやることもなかったので、持ってきていたハンディレコーダーのデータを聴いていたのですが、以前録音したピアノの即興演奏を聴いたときに、録音状態があまりよくないとはいえ、あまりに自分の中の「Nocturne」のイメージにぴったりだったので、それらのデータを素材として作品を制作しました。

このピアノはコンタクトマイクとエレキギターを使用して録音したので、時にE-BOWを使ったかのような持続音が鳴っていたり、様々なノイズが入っていたりします。

トラック5は、素材を切り貼りしながら作成したループを、ずっと前から取り組みたかった手法で加工したものです。
具体的には古い、メンテもしていないテープエコーのテープ出力に、ループ素材を繰り返し通すことで起こる劣化の過程を記録したものです（着想時はあまりにもWilliam Basinskiじゃないか、と思いはしたものの、幾らかアプローチの角度が異なることと、手持ちのRE-150の音がとても好きで単純に結果が楽しみだったので、制作することにしました）。
